Dog
Grooming
is important... ,
Not
only
does
grooming
make
your
dog
look
good,
but
also
it
helps the
psychological
health
of
your
dog
as
well.
Dog
hair
is
prone
to
attracting
and holding on to grease
and dirt which
can
have
a
bad
effect
on
your
dog's
skin.
An
important part of
dog grooming is to begin
training your dog to
be groomed from an early age.
Try
to
train
your
dog
in
having
his
body
parts
brushed
and
touched.
It
is
your
decision
as
to
whether
you
groom
your
dog
yourself
or
not,
but
if
you
decide
not
to
then
be
sure
to
select
your
groomer
carefully.
Watch
them
and
make
sure
that
they
have
a good
manner
with
your
dog
and handle
them
gently
and with
care.
There
are a
number
of things that you need to remember
when dog grooming. Firstly be
sure
to
examine
your
dog's
body
parts
once
every
day
for
anything
that
shouldn't
be
there
such
as
irritation
and
bumps.
Also
check
for
fleas
which
if
found,
can
be
removed
using
a
finely
toothed
comb.
If
you
find
any
ticks
amongst
the
hair
then
these
can
be
tweezed
off.
Also
make
sure
that you check your dog's ears,
especially drooped ears which
can
be
prone
to
infection.
You
must
catch
any
infection
early
or
the
consequences
can
be
loss
of
hearing.
Another
important
area
to
check
on
a
daily
basis
is
your
dog's
pads.
Look
for
dirt
and
grime
which
can
infect
the
paws
if
not
removed.
Your
dog's
nails
should
be
trimmed
once a
month,
even
more
so
if
you
find
that
your
dog
has
some
difficulty
walking.
Teeth
should
be cleaned
twice
a week
using
a toothbrush
and dog
toothpaste.
Make
sure
you
use
soft
bristles
as
not
to
make
the
experience
uncomfortable
for
your
dog.
If
you
find
that
mucus
is
building
up
in
your
dog's
eyes,
a
slighly
damp
cotton
cloth
can
be
used
to
remove
it.
Brush
away
any
dead
hairs
prior
to
bathing
your
dog.
By
doing
this
you
are
clearing
all
the
mats
from
their
coat.
To work the mats, Soak
your
dog in
some
warm
water
and apply
some
dog shampoo
in small
quantities
making
sure
you
target
areas
such
as
the
eyes,
ears,
toes,
under
the
chin
and
rectum.
Be sure
to
avoid
direct
contact
with
your
dog's
eyes
and
ears
with
the
soapy
water.
After
washing
your
dog
apply
a
specially
made
dog
conditioner.
